Stayed here for breakfast, the vegetarian dish was ok, but the service was a bit understaffed, which I would have expected differently at the higher prices. Our waitress also didn't understand German without pointing it out to us at the beginning, so we had to repeat the entire order in English. Unpleasant.
Quiet, outdoors, with hummingbirds chirping we enjoyed our respective breakfasts at Chipps. Service was good and food was tasty. Much more of a value than the over-priced hotel buffet and just as filling. In fact, the presentation on the plate was very nice, but lasted for little time as we savaged our way through it. The eggs with maple bacon and side salad and French toast was delicious.
Good selection and fine food. You get a lot of salad with the menus.
Great service and excellent breakfast
A very friendly restaurant with an amazing food! Try The Mexican Style!! It is delicious!!!
Great brunch place
Super place very good food. Pictured is the perfect gentleman and omelette
Very good (especially at breakfast), nice place and very kind staff.
my favorite
we were so pleased to find this place offering an excellent breakfast range. The service was excellent and attentive and very helpful Food was tasty and the breakfast menu fits all requirements thank you for your kind service to us
Great place to have breakfast or brunch. The service is great and the food is pretty good as well! There is plenty of seating available for bigger groups (we came with a group of 7). The French Toast was nice and fluffy just like the eggs, which were probably the best I’ve ever had. I really enjoyed the bacon, because it had a nice crispy taste, but were not burnt. I’m not a salad guy, but I did however enjoy their salad and the dressing they put on it. The apple juice is AMAZING they make it fresh in the restaurant with REAL apples! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Berlin
Delicious breakfast, large and appealing portions. Employees very friendly and helpful!
Well worth the 20 minute walk from my hotel
Was good but the scrambled eggs where overcooked and the saussages a bit bland loved the beans on toast
Delicious but service was a bit slow.
Great selection of food including lots of veggie options and decaf coffee, but the veggie 'bacon' was just tofu (not sure if this was a one off or standard) and the Vollkornbrot was just cheap brown sandwich bread from a supermarket. All that being said, I would go back if I was in the area, but certainly won't go out of my way to pay them a visit
Well, lukewarm food, service didn't feel like and smashed the food onto the table. Otherwise very nice, you can do it when you are around.
CHIPPS wants to be a fancy restaurant in Mitte to please mostly wealthy international customers. On a quiet Friday morning, my girlfriend and I had breakfast there and the experience was exceptionally underwhelming. First we waited 10 minutes for them to take our order. After the food we ordered didn´t come, the waitress told us that they made some sort of mistake and offered us a drink each for free as compensation for the wait. The admittedley nice gesture turned a bit sour as both of us weren´t particulary thirsty anymore, but the waitress would not leave until we´d order the freebie. We had ordered one of our dishes with a side of bacon. Weirdly, we got served the extra bacon on a seperate plate before the actual main dish. We were literally sitting in front of a plate with nothing but bacon strips for 10 minutes before they served us the actually meals. I ordered the Lumberjack which according to their menu consists of scrambled eggs with french toast, maple syrup and bacon. I got served exactly that but for some reason they put lamb´s lettuce on my plate aswell even though there was no mentioning of it on the menu. I´m certainly not an expert but salad with vinegar dressing doesn´t go well with french toast with maple syrup (!). To me it looked like a desperate attempt to fill up the plate to camouflage that they were short on some ingredients. Anyways, after we waited over ten minutes for the bill we prepared to leave and were eventually able to pay. Sorry guys but that was nicht gut!
A restaurant that is true to its role as a brunch. Since there is a museum island nearby, you can see a museum on the museum island and relax. The sheep felt scarce on a male basis.
Delicious and simple breakfast, and the BEST coffee I had while staying in Berlin. A few vegan options which was great! Very nice place and atmosphere.
Yummy food , great for breakfast
Nice place to have some breakfast. I had the English Breakfast with some vegan sausages, which is great that they replace most sausages and bacon in their dishes. Got a watery espresso at first, but the waiter got me a new one straight away, great service.
Very good. Tasty. Few vegan options would be good though.
Incredible food!
the best options for a brunch...very original and new
Lovely food. Definitely will be going back!
Great restaurant that is very busy, whether in the evening or in the day. Best reserve a table. All service staff are very friendly, despite the high rush and stress. The food is fresh and tasty and if you want, you can watch the preparation. The selection of food is plentiful, if not quite cheap. Definitely recommended.
Nice breakfast place which offers vegan and omnivore dishes. Very crowded and loud! The Staff is friendly but exclusively English speaking and a bit overtaxed. They have an open kitchen which is nice to look at but it smells extrem, the bacon smell will stick to you for hours. For the weekend a reservation is recommended
Went for breakfast with a group of 8 people. We had some custom orders that the restaurant accommodated superbly without being difficult about it. The food was fantastic, everyone was happy. We had half the menu. The only tip is when it gets full, the staff get a little busy, but they still manage very well. We liked the place to much, we came back the very next day. Thanks a lot for great meals and drinks! Please add smoked salmon to the menu 😉 got to have it with eggs breakfast option!
They don’t honor reservations, simple; and are not apologetic about it ; the more numbers you are the better are chances you will be welcomed. Very disappointing !
Overall worth a visit if you like the ordinary breakfast dishes done well. I ordered the eggs Benedict with bacon. The hollandaise sauce was just right, not too heavy or oily, and the bacon was even better than usual. The only downside is when sitting outside, people smoke right near you, and the waiters rarely come to check if you need anything. Not a mandatory visit, but definitely a good option if you're nearby.
Super friendly staff, good food and overall a cosy place!
Q ricooo👍super fresh and delicious offer as well as great service! We could not fault it. Gladly again...
Wannabe premium breakfast restaurant. Super narrow seats, slow service and way overpriced. I paid for a small bowl of curd cheese with 4 little pieces of canned fruits (NO fresh ones) around 10 euros, 2 scrambled eggs with a tiny bit of pickles 13 euros, for a warm and definitely NOT fresh squeezed orange juice (although it should have been) 6,50 euros and for a mediocre coffee 4 euros. So 35 euros for a very basic breakfast of low quality and even lower quantity. There are plenty of restaurants with better service, quality and price. Just a tourist trap you should avoid. The star gets only the nice looking open kitchen.
Service was great (fast, polite and funny)! Breakfast was delicious. I would expect better bread in eggs Benedict.
Firstly, very friendly staff. Welcoming and polite. Gave us free juice because our food was late, but to be honest not enough time had passed that we'd noticed! The food itself is really tasty. Great bacon and excellent scrambled eggs. The layout is nice and bright and not too busy. Highly recommended.
Poached eggs were over boiled, so breakfast was ruined. In addition that was wven not cheap.
Perfect breakfst for a day in Berlin. Friendly staff and good food.
Went here for breakfast the other day, absolutely amazing food! Couldnt praise the service enough! 100% will be returning before going home!
OK. Better locations available in the area. Little small and only one toilet
Really nice restaurant, high quality breakfast 👍
Great food, large portions and very friendly staff. Would definitely come back.
Good food but no chips!
I remembered this place in such a positive light, from a few years ago, but I guess something changed. The service was friendly, for that I'd say it was OK, otherwise - disappointing. The location is nice, off center, not as crowded as the nearby touristic area, but the pricing is way too high for what they deliver. I had an omelette that was served overcooked, half surface crusty burned. While some people might like that(?) I think that a kitchen that knows the restaurant charges 11,00€ for this dish should not send it out like this, but rather make a new one. I was too hungry to wait, so I just ate it. At the defence of the waitress, as soon as she was aware of it, she tried to compensate us a bit with complimentry coffee - so again, the service saved the day...but I do not think the quality matches the pricing here. That's, in.my eyes, a serious bummer.
I was in the morning for breakfast at Chipps. The service staff was very friendly and attentive. The omelette was huge and flavorful. That may explain the stately price of 11 €. Unfortunately, the salad side dish swam completely in the dressing. Next time I would share a portion with my companion.
We had to wait over 30 minutes for two simple breakfast dishes. It looked like it was the same for other tables as well. The waitress neither warned us nor apologized for the delay, moreover she totally ignored us despite obvious eye contact. The food was served immediatepy after we complained about long waiting time. It was slightly overpriced, but maybe I'm just bitter because of the bad service experience...
Horrible service, good food. If you don’t mind waiting 30+ mins for your yoghurt, this is a great vegetarian spot.
Excellent food experience. Kohlrabisuppe and Penne Nudeln with an Steinpilz-Pfiffeling-Bahmsauce. Fantastic, actually!
Good place for weekend morning. The food is fresh and yummy. Waiter and waitress very warm. Enjoy here!
They got me obsessed! I had an amazing brunch already some time ago but still dream of this creamy, warm coconut milk rice. Also my dad didn't miss the meat to his breakfast. A bit pricey and service can be slow but it's worth the wait.
